Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (DS)

Flew through a load more levels today, without struggling on that many. I even unlocked the second bonus track, and then went back to Normal Mode to finish the two unlocked bonuses. I then had a stint on Easy to bump up my overall score a little, but actually found it quite difficult as it’s so slow! Returned to Hard, and now I’m stuck on the Women Who Save Jin level, which I think is the last one before the …

Having completed Normal Mode the other day, I made a start on Hard Mode today. And bloody hell, is it hard. I’m sure the jump from Normal to Hard is bigger than that on the first game. Anyway, I’ve managed a few tracks, and unlocked the first bonus track – Monkey Magic! Managed to complete that too, although it took many attempts.

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (DS): COMPLETED!

Yeah, already. But it’s impossible to put down, isn’t it? Besides, I’ve only done it on Medium and the real game isn’t until Hard. But I loved it. Every single track is fantastic, the final “level” is suitably epic, and it’s basically Ouendan++. Which isn’t a bad thing.

Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 (DS)

Oooouueeenndaaaaaaaaaaan! Hurrahs all round! Ouendan 2 is here! It arrived today and I’ve spent a good hour or so on it. And… it’s the best game ever made. Ever. Since the last one, anyway. I was pessimistic about the tracklist, but I needn’t have worried – every single one (so far) has been excellent. In particular, “Go My Way” by Yaida Hitomi (she of “Over the Distance” from the first game), and the “I wanna be a popstar” song. Total …

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (DS)

ARSE! Which is what the men shout, of course, and not a reference to how well I played today. Mostly re-did some levels on Hard mode, and did reasonably well there. For fun (or not), I tried Ready Steady Go! on Insane again, and just died. A lot. This really is one of the best games I’ve ever played. If you have a DS, and you don’t have this game, you really need to buy this now!

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (DS)

It has been some time since I last played this, but now I have my DS Lite and a nice long wooden stylus (from Blue on the rllmuk forums), I thought I’d give doing Ready Steady Go (the final level) on Insane mode. Of course, I was rubbish being out of practise for so long. Went back to Hard mode instead, and redid some levels there, getting better scores than I’d had previously.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Two more levels done! Managed to get past Giant Rat vs Businessman after about 15 tries, and it was not easy. As you’d expect. The first half of Police vs UFOs was really easy. However, the second half was not – and I swear the pattern of circles changed from attempt to attempt. And it kept making them appear under my hand! Gah!! Ready Steady Go! can just eff RIGHT off. I saw a video of someone completing it the …

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Another couple of levels out of the way – Ugly Cleopatra (which was bloody hard), and Over the Distance (which was bloody easy – A rank on my first go). Now there are only three songs left on Insane mode. I had a go at Businessman vs Giant Rat, but failed miserably. I suspect these final three will be somewhat difficult. Ho hum.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Another day, another level. I’m certainly not working through them on Insane quite as quickly as I did on the easier modes… This time, it was Purple Afro Election Man, and it was pretty easy up until the beginning of the final section, which just threw me over and over. I think i fluked it on my last attempt. It matters not, however, as it is teh defeat0red!

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Three more levels complete – Teacher, Ramen Man and Diarrhea Violinist. Ramen Man was actually really easy, and only took about three attempts. the violinist one though, guh. I spent about 45 minutes on that one alone. Anyway, 9 down, 6 to go!

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Two more levels done, namely Dodgeball and Potter. Had a go on Teacher, but, well, it’s a bit bloody hard, isn’t it? I’m taking about 10 or more attempts to clear each level so far. I dread to think how difficult Ready Steady Go! is going to be…

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Yes, again. I’ve decided to try and finish off Insane mode. I’d already done two of the songs, and have just managed to finish two more – Horse and Horny Secretary. The latter was really difficult, even though I knew the patterns and stuff. I just really struggled with it. Anyway, 4 down, 11 to go. Or something…

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan: OUENDONE – YET AGAIN

In my last Ouendan-related post, I suggested that completing “Normal” mode was the limit of my 1337 gaming skillz. It seems that is not the case, as I managed to complete Hard Mode this evening. That’s right – I cleared all of the songs. Even Ready Steady Go! (the last one), that I took over a hundred attempts to beat on Normal. I’ve been listening to the soundtrack a lot recently, so I know the songs off by heart, and …

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan

Yes, yes, yes. I’ve already completed it. I know. And yes, I said it was now too hard for me. But I had a few goes anyway, and managed the racehorse level and one of the others. Pot Man was too hard. Far too hard. As in, not possible. I really do need to complete this mode though. It unlocks cheerleaders…

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan: COMPLETED! AGAIN!

About another 20 tries this morning, and a few near misses, and I finally, finally, finished Normal Mode. Finally. Finished. Gibber. I only had ONE miss in the end, and only just managed to spin the final wheel before dying. My arm hurts. My index finger has a stylus-end shape gouged into it. My DS is relieved it hasn’t been snapped in half. And now, Hard mode with Impressive Chin and Hat Man has been unlocked. And oh, it’s hard …
